The MUMBAI PRADESH ARYA VIDYA SABHA’S GURUKUL COLLEGE OF COMMERCE, affiliated to the University of Mumbai, was established in July 2001. Under the management of MPAVS, the college instills of rich traditional and cultural values keeping in mind the aspects of changing era. The College is accredited by NAAC in 2017 and is ISO 21001/14001/50001 Certified.

Excellence in quality education is developed keeping in mind the
current needs of higher education. Our team of competent and qualified teaching
faculty ensure focus on latest teaching pedagogics and bridge the gap between
curriculum and industry requirements. The teaching methods vary from time to time
and include a mixture of traditional chalk-duster- board as well as the use of smart boards and
ICT. Research is also encouraged amongst the students by organising various expert
sessions and other activities.
We constantly persuade students to participate in various
events. These events range from cultural to sports, from clubs to associations,
from festivals to academic events. All these events are planned and executed by the
students. This encourages student participation in all areas where students have the scope to
display various abilities and talents and grow up to be confident managers and leaders.
Imparting value – based education is the onus of any institution
and thus we ensure that our students understand and empathise towards the needs and
requirements of society. This is carried on by our Extension Units National Service Scheme and
Department of Lifelong Learning through a number of Social Outreach programmes. The
Women Development Cell (WDC) also looks into empowerment of women and girls through
a number of well planned activities.
To survive in this cut throat competitive edged world, it is imperative that
learners develop life skills like communication, confidence building, inter personal
skills, etc. Learners are imparted with life skills through various activities, workshops,
certificate programs etc. These skills help students to deal with their day to day
challenges and handle stress as well as peer pressure that they frequently face.
The college offers Regular UG Programmes in B.Com, Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance, Bachelor of Commerce in Banking and Insurance and Bachelor of Management Studies in accordance with the University of Mumbai to prepare learners for industry, entrepreneurship as well as business life.
The College offers two-years PG Programme in Master of Commerce (Accountancy) and Master of Commerce (Management). Learners who are interested in higher education opt for these programs after graduation. Learners who are already employed may also take up these programs since classes are conducted early in the morning, after which they may resume their duties at work.
These are One Year / 30 hour courses which equip learners to face the challenges of corporate world and arm them with skill sets which increase their chances of employability and success in the industry.
