GCC provides a wide platform to the students to explore and exhibit their talents by hosting a plethora of co-curricular and extension activities. The students are encouraged not only to participate but also organise various events thereby enhancing their leadership and managerial abilities.


The Motto of NSS “Not Me But You”, reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for self-lessnss service. The NSS Unit of Gurukul College of Commerce having 100 volunteers is very active and involved in socio economic welfare issues where our volunteer students have developed a sense of belongingness and ownership towards the society and nature. We have inculcated leadership qualities, orator skills, team work and spirit of harmony amongst the students and towards the institution. A few activities conducted includes:

In order to promote fine arts and performing arts, the college conducts various annual competitions in different categories which include Personality contests, Singing, Dancing, Mono Acting, Rangoli, Mehendi, Tattoo, Nail Art, Painting, Poster Making etc. Also students participate at various inter collegiate festivals and have won laurels in many events.


The Gurukul College of Commerce WOMEN DEVELOPMENT CELL (WDC) is an especially constituted body as


per the directives of the University of Mumbai, Women Development Cell, Aspiring to empowerment of women for a better future and its prime role is to deal with the cases of sexual harassment. It’s Jurisdiction extends to all students, teaching and non teaching staff and members of management within the Gurukul Institution and its vicinity. The Cell conducts various programmes like arranging expert lectures on women issues, a training of Taekwondo for girls, campus awareness drives on Sexual Harassment and women safety etc.


sportsThe Sports activities are conducted under the guidance of our Asst. Sports Director. Various indoor and outdoor sport events are organised like carom, chess, Volley Ball, Cricket etc.The students participate for various games at inter college, University, District, State and National Levels. Our students have won a number of medals at all these levels in various games. The college also has a well equipped GYMKHANA to create focus on health and fitness.


A duly elected Student Council is constituted every year as per the University norms to look into individual astudent council 2015-16nd
collective problems of the students. The General Secretary of the Student Council along with the other office bearers heads the team. The student council actively organises various event and is encouraged to participate in various seminars and workshops for leadership and personality development and other issues of interest.


The Literary Association has been primarily formed to develop communication skills amongst students. Competitions like Essay, Elocution, Debate, Group Discussions etc are organised to develop and enhance confidence and professional skills amongst students


Regular Industrial Visits are conducted to give practical exposure to students. This helps students to co-relateiv classroom teaching to actual industrial processes. Industries visited by students include Navneet Book Industry, Textile Industries, RBI, Stock Exchange etc.


We aim to create skilled qualified and competent commerce graduates to generate employability. The Placement Cell also conducts mock interviews and Group discussions for students to get them acquainted to the actual recruitment process of the corporate world. Theplacementcollege has tie ups with various corporate houses which conducts campus placements for our students. The companies recruit our students by conducting tests and interviews within the campus. A few eminent companies where our students are placed include Wipro, TCS, Andromeda Marketing, Fly High Aviation etc.


There are a number of seminars conducted students as well as for staff on various topics. Experts from various fields are invited to express their ideas and views. Topics include personality development, Career Guidance, Mutual funds etc.

Apart from the above mentioned activities the college celebrates Independence Day, Republic Day, Teachers Day, World AIDS Day, International Yoga Day, Hindi Diwas, Marathi Diwas, Gujrati Diwas on a grand scale.



The college has Book Bank facility for the economically weak students. The applications are received from students and free text books are provided to the needy and deserving students.


The college has a Counselling Cell to address the student’s emotional well-being and provide them personalised guidance. If required parents are also called for sharing the problem as their involvement is equally important in such cases.


A Grievance Box is placed in the lobby of the college premises which is easily accessible to the students. Students put forth their grievances and the issues are redressed at the earliest.
